Uckfield Town Council considers Manor Park traffic issues

Traffic issues on Manor Park Estate could be raised when Uckfield town councillors meet with representatives of East Sussex County Council.

The ‘Strengthening Local Relationships Meeting’ is due to take place on July 13.

Town councillors are due to consider issues for submission at a meeting of their environment and leisure committee, tonight (Tuesday, May 30).

They include:

  • Seeking an update on what is happening to replace ‘Children Slow Down’ boards which have gone missing or have been damaged along Browns Lane.
  • Asking whether it is possible to put ‘dolly posts’ on verges in Downsview Crescent – without them being a crash risk – to prevent parking on verges.
  • Asking about prospects for a 20mph speed limit in Browns Lane. A report to the environment committee says there is great concern about the speed of traffic in the lane, even though the surface isn’t good.
