Uckfield Singers are looking for a new musical director as talented Tina Gelnere prepares to spend the next two years on a masters opera course at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
Tina joined the Singers in September 2015 and has led the 90-strong community choir during their Monday evening rehearsals, events, workshops, and two major concerts a year, helping to raise money for local and national charities.
Her last performance as musical director with the Singers will be at their summer concert on Saturday, July 21, at Uckfield Civic Centre.
Nick Poole, chairman of the Singers said: “We are delighted Tina has this fantastic opportunity, one which her talent richly deserves.
“Both the Singers and Tina have benefited from our association and she leaves with all our best wishes.
“Of course this means we are now looking for a new musical director to take the choir forward.”
Uckfield Singers are a not-for-profit choir with members of all ages and abilities who love to sing and at the same time raise money for charity.
They sing everything from Les Miserables to Abba, Elton John to John Rutter and everything in between with rehearsals being fun in a relaxed friendly atmosphere and held at the Belmont Centre, next to Holy Cross Church, each Monday evening.
There is more information about the vacancy for a new musical director on the Uckfield Singers’ website. And details of pay can be requested via the email contact form on the website’s Contact Us page.
The closing date for applications is May 18, 2018, and interviews will be held during June 2018 in Uckfield.
