If you would like to learn how to make homemade presents or provide nutritional meals on a budget then you might be interested in an event being held in Uckfield next month.
Advice aimed at making the most of income, savings, getting training and employment, housing and much more will be available at the Wealden Really Useful show.
It will take place at the Civic Centre between 10am and 4pm on Wednesday, December 2, and there will be a variety of stalls offering advice on housing, benefits, child safety, community safety and energy efficiency.
There will be workshops on CV writing and interview skills and on how to make homemade presents. There will be food demonstrations and children's entertainment.
The event is being organised by Wealden Council and the timing has been deliberately chosen in the run up to Christmas because that is the period when council housing clients are more likely to get into debt, according to a bulletin to councillors.
The bulletin said: 'It is therefore important that we help customers to manage the cost of Christmas responsibly and also think about saving for the next one.'
Organisations working with Wealden include Citizens Advice Bureaux, Job Centre Plus, Credit Uniion, Trading Standards – Illegal Money Lending Team, Sussex Downs and Plumpton Colleges and East Sussex Fire and Rescue,
