Uckfield Runners present cheque to St Wilfrid’s Hospice

Uckfield Runners have presented a cheque for £1,000 to St Wilfrid’s Hospice at Eastbourne.

Runners chairman Pete Wilkes can be seen, above, handing the money to St Wilfrid’s chief executive officer David Scott-Ralphs while other club members look on.

Pete said the donation was made because every time club runners take part in the Eastbourne Parkrun they go over to the hospice to have tea and cakes and are always made very welcome, and they know it is a good cause.

The funds were raised through membership fees and a £1 charge each time members run with the club. Fees, given when the club supplies marshalls for Weald Trail Races which take place in June, were also included.
