Uckfield Rocks Road roadworks closure signs in ‘wrong places’

Road closure signs indicating that Rocks Road, Uckfield, is closed at the bridge over the A22 have been put in the “wrong place”.

The confusion was pointed out by county councillor Claire Dowling when she spoke to Uckfield Town Council last night (July 30).

“For those of you living in the north of the town are probably aware that bridge repairs are under way and will be for the next six weeks.

Regency Close

“Some of the signs saying road closed are in the wrong places.

“The road isn’t closed at Regency [Close]. The road is open to Snatts Road.”

Correct positions

Cllr Dowling, who is county councillor for the Uckfield Division, said she would be contacting East Sussex Highways to get signs put out which explained what is closed and have them in the correct positions.

“I am sure there a lot of people who will come down there and think Hunters Way and The Drive are closed.

“We need to get that sorted out as soon as possible.”
