Ladybird tucks itself into the fold of a leaf in an Uckfield garden.

Uckfield gardening – getting rid of moss and slime

Work is continuing to clean the patio to get rid of moss and slime which makes it very slippery, writes the Uckfield News Anonymous Gardener.

We are scrubbing it in sections as it can be tiring but the results are impressive.

I’m sure everyone has noticed the early arrival of spring flowers because of the weather being so mild. This was no exception in our Uckfield garden. The daffodils are already out with crocuses trying to follow suit.

Budding peony.

However recent windy weather means they are suffering and, coupled with the cold snap, it means that not all the new bedding plants will make it to spring so will have to be replaced later on.

Spring bedding plants aren’t going to survive the cold snap.

Elsewhere in the garden I found a ladybird trying to find shelter, see picture at the top of the page.
