Uckfield firefighters tackle incidents from hedge fire to fuel spillage

Incidents attended by Uckfield firefighters over the past fortnight range from a hedge fire in Mayfield to a fuel spillage in Bell Farm Road, Uckfield. fire_modern_engine

Crew manager Steve Ramsay shares the following information:

Saturday, January 28 – Hedge fire, Mayfield
Sunday, January 29 – Car fire ‘persons reported’. This call led to three appliances attending.
Monday, January 31 – A fuel spillage on Bell Farm Road, Uckfield.
Tuesday, February 1 – Road traffic collision in Heathfield
Wednesday, February 2 – Fire at Crowborough in early evening.
Thursday, February 4 – Car fire near North Chailey
Saturday, February 6 – An appliance from Uckfield was called to Heathfield for a small microwave fire in domestic flats.
Thursday, February 9 – A chimney fire in Fletching.

Crews also attended several false alarms and standby moves to provide cover on other station grounds. Uckfield Fire station has been busy planning events for the year.  Courses are being run at the station and visits from groups in the community are expected.

Home safety visits, designed to raise awareness of safety matters in the home, are always available across the local communities.

These visits include the fitting of free smoke alarms where required and are undertaken by firefighters from your local fire station.
