Uckfield Fire: woman rescued in Vernon Road

A woman was rescued from a fire in Uckfield early this morning (June 9).

East Sussex fire and Rescue issued the following statement:

“We were called at 06.34 to an address on Vernon Road.

“Two fire engines from Uckfield and one from Crowborough were sent to the scene.

“Firefighters used four breathing apparatus and two high-pressure hose reels.

“The woman, who had been given fire survival advice by the Sussex Control Centre, was rescued using a triple extension ladder.

“The gas and electricity supplies were isolated by crews.

“A fire investigation has taken place and the fire was accidental.”
