Uckfield fatal collision – police appeal for driver of blue car to come forward

Police investigating a collision in Uckfield where two people died are appealing for the driver of a small mid-blue coloured car to come forward.

Emergency services were called at 4.51pm to the collision involving a white Peugeot Boxer van in Eastbourne Road, Ridgewood.

The van was travelling south and left the road and collided with a tree.

Police said the 22-year-old man and 27-year-old woman were declared dead at the scene.

Two appliances from Uckfield Fire Station and the technical rescue unit from Lewes Fire Station were among those attending.

PC Stuart Watson said: “The driver of a small blue coloured car that was seen close to the collision may have information which could help us with the investigation. If you are the driver of this vehicle or know the driver, please contact us.”
