Uckfied dancer Isabella Knights has graduated from the Royal Ballet School and is to join a top German company.
Izzy danced with the Rennie Dance Academy – which holds classes in Uckfield and Newick – from the age of three to 11 and went on to study at White Lodge, the Royal Ballet School lower school in Richmond Park before completing her training at the upper school in Covent Garden.
While at the Royal Ballet School Izzy was a finalist in the Young British Dancer of the Year competition as well as the recipient of the Valerie Adams award for outstanding talent in musicality and performance.
She was also selected to represent the upper school in Japan in demonstration classes.
After a total of 16 years training, Izzy has secured a full contract in a top ballet company in Germany, at the Bayerische Staatsballett, in Munich.
She is excited to be joining the company and will be touring with them in China in the Autumn.
Kirsten Rennie Carter, principal of The Rennie Dance Aademy said: “Clearly we are all delighted, and looking forward to a special trip to Munich sometime soon.”
