Uckfield-based band Red Butler has been nominated for two awards in this year’s British Blues Awards and needs your votes to help them top the polls.
The whole band has been shortlisted as Best Emerging Artist and guitarist Alex Butler has been shortlisted as the Best Young Artist.
Alex, aged 21, is a former Manor Primary and Uckfield Community Technology College pupil and founded Red Butler in 2012. Other band members are Jane Pearce, lead vocalist, Charlie Simpson, drums and Mike Topp, bass.
The band manager is Alex’s father Richard and he said: “This has been a spectacular year for them with performances from Durham to Penzance and Norwich with many more between.
“In addition to solo gigs the band have appeared at festivals countrywide and have been chosen to tour with top American bands and Britain’s own star, Laurence Jones during 2015.”
They are working on their second album with a view to recording with a leading studio during January 2016.
Last year Red Butler was crowned Best New UK Act by the Writers’ Poll for Blues Matters Magazine and they are excited to have been shortlisted twice in this year’s British Blues Awards.
You can vote for them here. You’ll only be able to vote once so make sure you tick two boxes to give Red Butler your support. Look for them in categories for Best Emerging Artist and Best Young Artist.
