Two candidates are standing in a by-election for an Uckfield town councillor to represent Ridgewood Ward.
They are Jeremy Beesley, Independent, of 24 Sycamore Court, Uckfield, and Gareth Looker, Labour, of 1 Petreed Cottages, Eastbourne Road, Uckfield.

She was initially elected as a Liberal Democrat but subsequently became an Independent.

Mr Looker is chair of Uckfield Labour Party.
Uckfield News has invited each candidate to submit 100 words about themselves and what they would like to do for Ridgewood.
The information will be published on the website nearer the time of the election, which takes place on Thursday, August 31.
