Matt is new assistant manager at J&S
A new assistant manager has been appointed at J&S the motorcycle clothing and accessories superstore on the Bellbrook Estate, Uckfield.
He is Matt Bush, a keen motorcyclist, who lives in Ringmer and is pictured with one of the new Spiderman HJC RPHA 11 helmets.
A variety of other new helmets have arrived in store too from Shark along with the Scorpion EXO combat helmet and AGV K3 in Valentino Rossi colours
A gear exchange competition is under way at J&S at the moment. The idea is to nominate yourself, or somebody else, who needs to replace their Frank Thomas brand clothing and post a picture of them wearing it – and saying why they should win – on the J&S Facebook page, or in an email which should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The lucky winner will have a replacement for whatever Frank Thomas clothing they are wearing in the photograph. The competition closes on Friday, March 31.
Change of day for adult colouring session at Kilnwood Studio
An adult colouring session at Kilnwood Studio at the top of Uckfield High Street is moving to a Wednesday. All are welcome to go along from 10.30am to colour in company and enjoy a coffee and cake too.
For others there are pottery pieces in the studio which you can paint as Mother’s Day gifts and preparations are being made there for Easter too.
There will be a competition running for children who paint pottery eggs with a winner receiving a big Easter egg.
Cellophane wrapped Easter Eggs in decorated egg cups will be available too. They can be personalised if you wish or chosen off the shelf.

There’s a new dinner menu at Hartfields and mains include Basil Gnocchi, Moroccan Spiced Chicken Leg, and Smoked Haddock Fillet – to name but a few of the dishes. There’s also the ever popular 8oz rump steak, with hand cut chips, rocket, horseradish/garlic butter, roasted vine cherry tomatoes, portabello mushroom and onion rings.
Lunch specials include lite bites of beetroot and feta falafels with garlic and cucumber yoghurt; breaded halloumi sticks, red pepper relish and rocket salad; and Thai chicken cakes with Asian salad and sweet chilli dip.
Mains include ‘real’ cod fillet fish finger sandwich with homemade tartare sauce, side salad and crisps; bacon, brie and cranberry toastie with crisps and side salad and mixed bean and avocado quesadilla.
Dinner specials include starters of beetroot and feta falafels as above, and panko breaded halloumi sticks with red pepper relish.
Mains include slow cooked lamb, chickpea and lentil curry, toasted almond flakes, warm flatbread and fluffy rice; and pan-fried sea bass fillet with crayfish and sweet corn risotto, roast cherry vine tomato.

A ski sale is under way at Pipedreams with reductions on men’s, women’s, and kids jackets, salopettes, ski boots, goggles and accessories.
The shop is still hiring clothing for Easter ski trips but is now starting to receive stocks of flip flops, swimwear and summer clothing, so there is a combination of summer and winter stock on display.

All pieces are available in any size, any colour/finish and with the drawer knob or handle of your choice. Choose from standard sizes or have something made to fit a specific space.

New works from new artists arrive at Diane Hutt Gallery
Artist Nicki Litchfield is new to the Diane Hutt Gallery and her works are proving popular already particularly one of a fox described as Wishful Thinking.
But one is striking in the gallery window too and that is of a hare The Lookout.
Four new Dale Bowen originals have arrived too including Our Wooly which can also be seen in the gallery window.
