Three more teachers have joined Grace Annand to run classes at her Uckfield Yoga studio in High Street.
They are Alarna Lloyd, Sarah Lloyd-Morrison, and Amy Dier.
Alarna holds a drop-in meditation class on Fridays from 1.30pm for an hour and says it is an eclectic mix of meditation and mindfulness, focussing on crystals, self-healing and visualisation, always tailored to the group.
The classes are normally £10 but £5 for the first one.
Sarah Lloyd-Morrison calls her classes Bliss. They are all about restorative and relaxing yoga with guided meditation.
Sarah says her classes are really good for people who just want to switch off and enjoy total ‘me time’. They are suitable for people who have never done yoga before, or who are recovering from illness or who have limited mobility – everything is floor based.
Sarah’s classes are from 11am until noon on Fridays. The first session costs £5 and subsequent ones £9.
Amy runs Ashtanga classes on Wednesdays at 11am and on Thursdays at 7.30pm. She says they focus on breathing sequences with each pose held for five breaths.
The same sequences, based on the ‘eight limbs of yoga’ are used, with modifications for beginners, as a way of being yourself and in control of your thoughts and breath. Strength is improved each time.
Amy’s classes are £9 a time with £5 for the first one.
Grace opened Uckfield Yoga studio in September and is continuing to add to the range of classes offered, both during the week, and at weekends. If anybody else is interested in using the space please get in touch with her on 01825 763591, or 07966 284139.
Already on the programme are classes for children and babies, as well as adults and Grace has taken her first booking for a children’s yoga party.
She is delighted to have her own studio in the town centre and enjoys the work to and from it each way. “It is still early days and the business is growing and developing all the time. I want it to be friendly and inclusive and I think we are achieving that.
“We are all part of the community wanting to share the benefits of yoga, something we have all gained something from.”
