Temporary classroom could be sited at Bonners School, Maresfield

A temporary classroom could be sited at Bonners Primary School, Maresfield, to accommodate a growing number of pupils.

Wealden District Council has told the East Sussex County Council it has no objections to the proposal.

The plan is to site the classroom next to the south east elevation of the main school buildings on a sloping grassed area which is part of a larger area on which the school playing field stands, further to the south east.

The application seeks temporary permission for a standard “cabin” type classroom with green coloured textured walls and a flat roof.

A Wealden Council officer’s report says: “The additional classroom is required to cater for an increasing number of pupils attending the school.

“It is noted in submissions that should this increase be a longer term trend, consideration will be given to permanent buildings, subject to funding.”
