Taylor Wimpey have applied for planning permission to put up a sign advertising land they have bought in Ridgewood for the first two phases of development of 1,000 homes.
The company proposes placing the two-piece 6.1 metre by 1.5 metre sign next to the Little Horsted roundabout.
Their land is bounded by Lewes Road, New Town, the A22, Uckfield Sewage Treatment Works and land to the west of A22 North of Horsted Pond Gate.
The sign would say Land Acquired, Visit us online at taylorwimpey.co.uk, A development by Taylor Wimpey.
The developers held an exhibition in March of its plans for the first 250 homes of 1,000 to be built as part of the Ridgewood Farm development.
Feedback from visitors was to be taken into account as a reserved matters planning application was prepared for submission to Wealden District Council.
That reserved matters application has not yet surfaced, though the Taylor Wimpey website says they anticipated submission in Spring 2017.
Outline planning permission was given last year to Welbeck Strategic Lane for 1,000 new homes to be built on more than 45 acres of land in Ridgewood.
The Taylor Wimpey exhibition in March related to their detailed scheme for 250 of those homes on about 25 acres bought from Welbeck, to include public open space and two children’s play areas.
