Superhero scarecrows are coming to Uckfield

Uckfield townspeople are being invited to build scarecrows and take part in a competition being organised by the Lions Club this summer.

It is hoped residents, schools, youth organisations and shops will take part in the event and display their creations across town.lions_logo_un

Judging will take place from Wednesday, June 3, and the builders of the top five scarecrows from public entry along with the top three made by schools and youth groups will be invited to bring them to the Luxford Field on Lions Day, Sunday, June 7, from 12.30-4pm.

They will be numbered and placed around the arena with the general public being invited to cast their votes for best scarecrow. Shop entries will be judged in situ.

The theme will be Superheroes and a list of entries will be available from the Lions Bookshop in Olives Yard for people wishing to travel around town and see the scarecrows in their original settings.

More information about the competition will be made available later in the year.
