Our Saturday independent columnist, Observer, says a successful late night shopping event is important to the health of Uckfield High Street.
Black Friday, Cyber Monday . . .I hope you are saving some money to spend on Uckfield Friday (December 1).
It is the annual late-night shopping event, designed to get townspeople in the festive mood with street entertainment, most shops open until 9pm and a general feel good factor.
There’s plenty on the agenda to tempt people into town and I hope that is reflected in shop takings.
The news from this week’s budget and other financial forecasts was truly miserable, so a good night for Uckfield on Friday will be a boost to everyone’s morale and, fingers crossed for a dry evening.
Most people want to see better shopping in Uckfield but you won’t get it if you spend elsewhere, or on the internet.
Put your money where your mouth is on Friday night.
As I have remarked before: Fine words butter no parsnips.
Cat deaths: This is a despicable and horrible crime. It is almost beyond belief that someone could be so wicked.
I hope the police can catch this dreadful person before any more families suffer from such an awful crime.
If it is the ‘Croydon cat killer’; why have they come to Uckfield? I suspect it may be someone copying these evil acts.
