See how many meetings Uckfield town councillors attended

Uckfield town councillor Diane Ward has achieved a 100% attendance record at meetings and is one of three councillors who hasn’t claimed a £1,236 allowance.uckfield-town-council-un

The figures for attendance and allowance claims are revealed in the town council’s annual report which will be presented at the annual town meeting on Tuesday, April 10.

Cllr Ward is a member of two committees, general purposes which she chairs, and environment and leisure. She has attended all 17 of their meetings along with ten out of ten full council meetings. That’s 27 meetings altogether.

The councillor attending fewest meetings is James Anderson. The council’s report shows he is a member of the plans committee and has attended one of their meetings. He has not attended any full council meetings.

Two other councillors have not claimed an allowance. One is Mick Dean who has attended 24 out of 27 meetings (89%) and the other Chris Macve who has attended 25 out of a possible 27 (92.6%).

The number of meetings attended by councillors depends to an extent on which committees they are voted on to.

Attendance at finance and personnel sub-committees is not included in the council’s records. Nor is attendance at working or steering groups or meetings where councillors represent the authority on outside bodies.

The person shown as attending most meetings is Cllr Keith Everett who has attended 36 out of a possible 44. He is a member of general purposes, environment and leisure, and plans committees.

Cllr Spike Mayhew, who chairs the plans committee and is also a member of environment and leisure has attended 34 out of 36 meetings.

Cllr Donna French, a member of environment and leisure, and plans, has attended 33 out of 36 meetings.

Figures recorded by the town council can be seen in the tables below. They have been extracted from the town council’s annual report.
