Saturday Social launches in Uckfield for people living with dementia

There was free musical entertainment and a free cream tea for people enjoying a Saturday Social at the Victoria Pavilion in Uckfield yesterday.

The drop-in event was held for people living with dementia, and their carers and families, and the first of a series of ten to be held each Saturday from 2-4pm.

Funding has been received enabling Sussex Support Service and Home Instead to provide the “supportive, safe and caring” gathering enabling people to socialise with others in a similar situation.

Sussex Support Service provides day care at the Victoria Pavilion and Home Instead supports older people in their own homes.

Special guests at the launch of Saturday Social were the new Uckfield Mayor, Cllr Spike Mayhew, an new Deputy Mayor Cllr Jackie Love.
