Robbers attack man with piece of concrete in Uckfield

Police have released descriptions of two men who attacked and robbed a man in Hunters Way, Uckfield, on Monday afternoon.

The 47-year-old man was grabbed around the neck, pushed to the ground and hit on the side of his face with a piece of concrete.

The attackers then stole money and ran off in the direction of The Drive.

The robbery happened at about 4.20pm on a pathway where there are three forks, one going left into Hunters Way, one going right into The Mount and another leading to “The Cage”.

One of the attackers was described as very sun-tanned, aged 17 to 18-years-old, 5'8″ to 5'9″ tall, wearing black trainers with a light blue tab on the inside, dark blue trousers.

The second attacker was described as a white male, aged around 20-years-old, 5'10″ to 6'0″ tall, slim. He was seen wearing a hoody which was black with two light yellow or white very thin pin stripes along the arms, made of very thin nylon sweat proof material pulled up tight around his face.

Detective Sergeant Andrew Harbour said “We are in the early stages of this investigation and while forensic and CCTV enquiries continue we ask for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may know something about it to make contact.”
