Reader’s letter – Problems with town clock

Nigel Woods says Uckfield High Street clock hasn’t been telling the right time. Has it left you confused too?

Nigel writes, in an email to Uckfield News: Just a comment. Time for Change. After the town paid for the replacement of the town clock in the High Street, wouldn’t it be nice if it told the right time?

Even when it didn’t work it was right twice a day! As it is I have no idea if the clock is still wrong or whether it has been adjusted.

I go running in the morning (so don’t wear a watch) and want to know whether I am on time; cycling at the weekend (and also don’t wear a watch) and want to know if I am on time, and shopping during the week (when I am carrying bags of shopping so can’t see my watch).

I run a lettings business in town and sometimes need to pick up my clients to take them to see a property at a specific time.

How wonderful it would be to know that it could be relied upon to tell the right time.
