Quiz, music, and curry nights, a Saturday wine-with-your-meal treat, and Sunday roasts with all the trimmings, are some of the events held regularly at the Ringles Cross pub.
A new team took over there in April and now Lauren Pinkney, who is managing it on behalf of Shem and Liz Gardner, who also run The Hope Inn at Newhaven, has settled in.
Lauren said: “I’m really enjoying it. Uckfield is a lovely place and things are going well. There has been lots of good feedback.”
A new chef is in place and concentrating on home-made fare, including chips and burgers, using produce sourced locally, from meat and cheese to fruit and vegetables.
Lauren says there’s a curry night from 6-7.30pm each Wednesday with curry and beer, or a small glass of wine for £10.
On a Saturday night, from 6-7.30pm, you can have any two meals from the specials board, and a bottle of house wine for £25.
And every Sunday, Ringles Roasts, roast dinners with all the trimmings, are available from noon to 4pm, for £9.95. For those with a smaller appetite it is £6, and for kids, £5.
There’s music every Friday from 9-11.30pm, and sometimes on Sunday, from 4-6pm, and there are quizzes twice a month.
The Ringles Cross quiz is on the last Tuesday of the month for a £1 entry fee, and Uckfield Lions hold a fund-raising quiz on the first Tuesday of the month with a £2 entry fee.
Some changes have been made inside the pub. A wall has been knocked down between the bar and what used to be the restaurant, and the bar itself has new lighting, and a new ceiling and floor.
Lauren says all are welcome to call in. There’s plenty of parking, plenty of seating inside and out, and a children’s play area.
