Public meeting on Uckfield Post Office future

A “Save Uckfield Crown Post Office” public meeting is to be held today (June 5) in the Ashdown Room of the Civic Centre (6pm).

James Watkins (Labour Party Euro candidate) will address the meeting along with representatives from Communications Workers’ Union (CWU) headquarters.

A statement on the union’s website says the meeting has been called following the Post Office’s franchising plans. It urges all residents to attend.

Representatives from the Post Office have been invited, the union statement says.

The Post Office announced in February that it was seeking a “retail partner” for Uckfield.
