Plans to turn former beauty clinic premises to flat and maisonette

Plans have been submitted to turn the former Circe beauty clinic premises off Uckfield High Street into a flat and maisonette.

The interior of the cottage at 170 High Street  which is accessed from a side road leading to Kings Court, would be adapted to provide one two-bedroom flat, and a separate one bedroom flat.

Both would have access off the existing entrance area with a communal stairway. The two-bed flat would be downstairs and the other upstairs.

A design and access statement submitted to Wealden Council with a planning application says the ground floor area, and first floor, were until recently a beauty clinic with four separate consulting rooms, with basins, and support acommodation including WCs and a kitchen area, as well as a shower within one of the consulting rooms.

The application, submitted by trustees of the Desmars Sipp, says the number of anticipated traffic movements for the two residential units is likely to be “considerably less than the previous consultancy use which offered the availability of up to four consulting rooms open six full days a week”.
