Plans to fell eight trees in Uckfield

Plans have been submitted to fell eight trees behind Noble Wines at the top of Uckfield High Street.

A planning application has been submitted by Abbey Commercial Ltd to cut down five sycamores, one hazel, one beech, and one sweet chestnut, at 246 High Street.

The application from the London-based business says: “All these trees provide excessive shading to rear of 242/244 High Street.

“There is potential for root damage to adjoining retaining wall. It is proposed to cut down all these trees to ground level.”

242/244 High Street is occupied by Noble Wines.
