Plans to extend Buxted Primary School

Plans to extend Buxted Primary School are being supported by Wealden District Council.

The proposal is to extend an existing four-bay mobile classroom to provide an additional classroom, store and toilet facilities.

East Sussex County Council also proposes retaining the extended unit and the neighbouring single mobile classroom for a further period of five years.

Wealden has written to the county council saying it is considered the proposals are appropriate.

“The proposed classroom would sit well within an academic context and provide for an essential and additional classroom facility.

“The additional toilet and storage facilities appear reasonably necessary for the increased level of students as a result of further classroom provision, while the retention of the extended unit and the adjacent single mobile classroom are considered necessary for the continuing level of educational provision within the school.”
