Plans for PV panels on roofs at Hendall Manor Farm, Herons Ghyll

Plans have been submitted to install photovoltaic panels on two buildings at Hendall Manor Farm in Herons Ghyll.

Drawings accompanying a planning application before Wealden Council show 100 panels to be fitted on the roof of one building and 40 on the roof of another.

A letter says: “These buildings are modern concrete/steel portal fram buildings clas with timberboarding and steel sheeting. Originally they would have been used as animal shelters/hay stores but are now ancillary buildings in connection with the new leisure use of the farm.”

The letter adds that even though the buildings are part of a group of buildings including the listed manor house they do not have any architectural heritage status in their own right.

It says that due to their location and size the buildings are ideal to use and there will be no detrimental effect on the listing building or its surroundings.
