Piltdown on full alert after burglaries in the village

Concern about burglaries has led to Piltdown being put on full alert with residents watching closely for suspicious vehicles and people.

They are also signing up to a dedicated group on WhatsApp and taking professional advice from a security company who are monitoring the village.

Robert White, chairman of Piltdown Residents Association and Piltdown Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinator told Uckfield News that residents are aware that crimes are on the increase, not only in Piltdown but also in surrounding villages and towns.

He said police are aware of the action being taken and give their full support when a crime has been reported.

“If all residents keep a look out and don’t ignore suspicious behaviour, report it immediately it will help stop these outrageous crimes taking place,” he said.
