Picture House restaurant to close for nine days

The Picture House Restaurant in Uckfield will be closing for nine days from this evening to restore old flooring and to get ready for the arrival of new furniture in the bar area.

A new bar menu offering more finger food will be available after the re-opening on Monday, June 13, and the new furniture is expected to arrive the following week.

Tansy Markwick, who, with her husband Kevin, owns the restaurant and cinema across the road, said there would be more sofas and comfortable seating in the bar area.

She said: “We’ll be updating it a bit and adding a concierge station where people will be able to buy their cinema tickets.”

She said a movie meal deal – two courses and a film for £21.95 – was proving popular at The Picture House. The offer is available from Sunday to Thursday for the 8pm film showing and the new station would allow the cinema tickets to be printed out at the restaurant.
