Parents and children invited to story and pottery painting session

Story-telling, interactive play, and pottery painting will be combined in a workshop for children coming up at Kilnwood Studio in Uckfield on Tuesday, July 25.

Lucinda Weis, a drama therapist and story-teller will entertain children and their parents, or carers, in a session designed especially for those who enjoy spending creative time together.

Lucinda, from Telling Tales StoryPlay, will base the ‘Art and Soul’ workshop around a Chinese tale, with child-friendly themes, about four dragons faced with a dilemna.

Interactive story play

There will be interactive story play and once inspired the children will have the chance to paint their own ceramic dragon, which will later be glazed and fired, and made ready for collection.

To book a place for you and your child at the workshop by contacting Lisa Todhunter or Teresa Smith at Kilnwood Studio on 01825 749627 or by email at

• A similar evening workshop for adults is planned for Thursday, October 5, from 7.30-930pm. The story will be about a lantern and item to be painted then will be a tea light holder. Places at this workshop will cost £20 each.
