Children swim, cycle and run in Uckfield triathlon
Children aged from eight to 14 years competed in an Uckfield triathlon on Sunday. It was the second to be held in the town.
Swimming took place in the Uckfield Leisure Centre pool, 25m x 4, with cycle and run sections based on the Uckfield Community Technology College sports ground.
The ‘Kidstri’ was organised by Hedgehogtri which was formed in 1997 by Paul Hedger who was at the time working for Wealden District Council as centre manager at the Uckfield Leisure Centre.
The first event put on by Hedgehogtri was the Uckfield Aquathlon. Since then Paul has set up and organised events at venues all over Sussex, from village runs to triathlons with more than 600 competitors.
