Lucky bride wins dress from Fross Wedding Collections, Uckfield
Bride-to-be Laura Cross was greeted with balloons, sparkling wine, lunch and cupcakes when she came to Uckfield yesterday to collect a wedding dress won in a competition.
She was thrilled with the welcome at Fross Wedding Collections and even more delighted with her prize than when she chose it last year.
“I love it and feel very lucky,” she said twirling before mirrors as her mother Janina shared in the excitement.
Laura got engaged last August to Malcolm Lee and spotted the competition to win a wedding dress in Perfect Weddings, the first weddings magazine she picked up as she began planning the big day.
“Two or three weeks later I was told I had won and couldn’t believe it. I’ve never won anything before,” she said.
She chose her dress in November when she received an equally warm welcome at Fross. It was the first she spotted on arriving at the shop and it has remained her favourite. Normally it would sell for £1,400.
Shop owner Fross Hockley said she was pleased to see Laura so thrilled and added she was looking forward to seeing pictures from the wedding that Laura promised to send after walking down the aisle on October 27.
Laura who lives in Clapham will be returning to her home village at Repton in Derbyshire to marry. She is pictured with Louisa O'Neill, assistant manager at Fross, who is presenting her with flowers sent by Perfect Weddings magazine.
