Buxted dancer wins chance to perform with National Youth Ballet
Twelve-year-old Buxted dancer Eleanor Goldfinch has successfully auditioned to dance with the National Youth Ballet during their jubilee season and been awarded funding to help with the costs.
Eleanor dances with the Rennie Dance Academy, which holds classes in Uckfield and Newick, and attends Uckfield Community Technology College.
Her mother Rachel said her daughter was very excited to be accepted to join the prestigious dance company.
She will attend a ten-day residential summer camp at Tring Park Performing Arts School in Hertfordshire. Then she will perform with the National Youth Ballet at EM Forster Theatre at Tonbridge School on August 23, 24 and 25 and in a gala performance at Sadler’s Wells on Sunday, September 2.
Eleanor, who started dancing when she was five, recently played the dormouse in a Rennie Dance Academy production of Alice in Wonderland at Clair Hall in Haywards Heath.
She is one of four children. She has two sisters Charlotte and Hannah and a brother Lucas. The younger children attend Buxted Primary School.
