Uckfield man donates 100th pint of blood to transfusion service
Seventy-year-old Uckfield man Mel Sanders has joined the blood transfusion service's 100 club by giving his 100th pint of blood.
Mel's daughter Sallyanne Rathborn said her father gave his 100th pint at Uckfield Civic Centre on Tuesday, July 17.
She said: "He started giving blood whilst in the RAF and thought that giving blood was a good way of helping to save lives.
"I think this is such a great achievement. I also think about how many lives he has helped save which is why I also give blood as often as I can."
Sallyanne is pictured above with her father. Thanks to Ron Hill for the photograph.
