Uckfield's version of the Oscars takes place next week
The Uckfield version of the Oscars takes place at The Picture House on Tuesday.
Young film-makers from Uckfield Community Technology College and Beacon in Crowborough will be battling it out for the honours at the awards ceremony.
The Uscars were first held six years ago in 2007 and winners from the earlier events have now graduated from their film and media courses at university and are making their own way in the industry.
Graeme Scarfe and Carla Taylor said: “We’d like to think we’re a breeding ground for film-making talent, but UCTC and Beacon media departments are only as good as the students who meet us half way and fuse learning with talent to produce their films.
“As media departments we’re very proud of what our film-makers have achieved again this year and no matter who walks away with an Uscar all those who toiled to create their film sequence are winners.”
