Uckfield's Uplands Court to be demolished to make way for new homes
Uplands Court, Uckfield, is set to be demolished with the site being redeveloped for 25 affordable homes.
Wealden District Council’s Cabinet decided yesterday (Wednesday) to sell its “land ownership” to Orbit Housing Group.
Orbit will knock down the current building, on the corner of The Drive and Cambridge Way, and redevelop the site for about 25 affordable homes, subject to “compliance with prevailing sustainability restraints”.
Discussions will begin at once with residents on rehousing options, moving people out and closing the building.
