More flats could be built off Uckfield High Street
Four more flats could bebuilt within the Kings Court development off Uckfield High Street if plans before Wealden Council are approved.
The proposal is to build the flats beneath others on either side of an archway near the already converted former Clarges where children used to have swimming lessons and where there was a ballet studio.
Plans before the council say that following demolition of original buildings on the site it was apparent a large amount of under-build was needed to achieve the approved ground floor levels of new homes. Large voids were created beneath the ground lfoor structures and it is suggested these could not be used to accommodate the additional flats. (WD/2009/1222/F) (Added Monday, June 1, 2009)
