All set for Uckfield Festival
Uckfield Festival gets under way this week with the first major event being the Big Day Out on Saturday, July 14.
There will be stalls and sideshows on the Luxford Field from 10am with entertainment - including a fun dog show - in an arena throughout the day.
The grand parade from Uckfield Community Technology College will leave the college at 1.30pm and head along the High Street to arrive at the Luxford Field at about 2pm.
Primary school children have made puppets on the theme of Stories from Around the World incorporating the Olympic theme and these will be seen in the parade which will also be accompanied by the college carnival group Spiritus.
Other highlights of the festival include the Electric Car Grand Prix on Sunday, July 15, at 11am in the TR Fastenings car park and The Alternative Uckfield Torch Run which takes place on Tuesday, July 17 from 10.30am to 11.15am.
One event which shouldn’t be missed is the Sky Dome Extravaganza due to take place on Saturday, July 21 from 9.45pm. As it gets dark a dome will light up with video projections, shadow puppets, dancers and video ‘follow spots’.
