First look at torches designed for Uckfield's alternative torch run
Mock-up versions of the torch that will be used on the Alternative Uckfield Torch Run have been displayed by students from Uckfield Community Technology College.
They will be carried through town on Tuesday, July 17, the same day the official Olympic Torch Relay by-passes Uckfield.
Children from seven schools are to take part beginning at 10.30am at the junction of London Road with the A272 near the Budletts roundabout.
They will run along London Road, Uckfield High Street, through New Town and along Lewes Road nearly to the Little Horsted roundabout with a rolling road closure as the event progresses. Read more in our previous story: Uckfield to have home-grown alternative to Olympic Torch Relay.
Showing the various mock-up version of the Alternative Torch that will by used in Uckfield are UCTC design club students from Years 7 and 8, Harry Fishlock, Jasmin Coe, Lucy Owens and Kieran Groves.
