New access plan for St Philip's Primary School in Uckfield

New access plan for St Philip's Primary School in Uckfield

UPDATE Oct 27, 2010 Application withdrawn according to Wealden Council website.

Details of new access arrangements for St Philip's Catholic Primary School, following demolition of the neighbouring St Michael's Convent, are before Wealden Council.

Eventually Old Timbers Lane is to be altered and improved to take traffic from the site, where a 25-place nursery and 30 flats are to be built, but to start with the plan is to have a turning head at the end of the road.

According to the plans school traffic would be directed in and out of the same access, the one closest to the convent.

The two-way road would extend around the north western side of the school with parking bays and a footpath along the edge.

It would finish just beyond the back gates to the school playground. The existing access to Old Timbers Lane would be blocked off.

Drawings illustrating the proposals can be seen on the Wealden Council website.
