Uckfield cinema owner seeks help from you with questionnaire
Cinema owner Kevin Markwick is seeking help from the public as he considers refurbishment of The Picture House at Uckfield.
Mr Markwick is particularly keen to attract new cinema-goers both from within the town and from further afield and wants to know if improved facilities would make a different to attendance.
In a questionnaire Mr Markwick asks whether you have ever been to the cinema and what your impressions of it are.
He also asks what would be the top three improvements sought if The Picture House is refurbished.
A list of suggestions includes:
- Improved access
- Improved access for disabled users
- An improved bar/cafe
- Well designed and decorated
- A more personal and intimate atmosphere
- Larger seats
- Larger lobby
- Greater selection of snacks and refreshments
- More professional/attentive staff
Mr Markwick said: “We already have a loyal following from within Uckfield and Crowborough and keen cinema-goers join us regularly from Haywards Heath and East Grinstead but we would like to know whether it’s possible to attract bigger audiences.
“The route to Uckfield from all these places is an easy one, we have good free parking next door to the cinema and now that we are considering refurbishment it is important for us to know from people further afield – just as in our own town - whether they have any special requests they would like to make as we put together plans for the future.”
Mr Markwick is also looking for volunteers to join small focus groups to discuss future developments at the cinema.
If you would like to be involved or are a shop or organisation that would be prepared to help by holding copies of the questionnaires please contact Cara Delaney of the brand development company Savvy & Victor on 01825 763310 or by email at cara@savvyandvictor.com.
