Councillors to elect Uckfield mayor and deputy on Monday
The annual statutory meeting of Uckfield Town Council where the mayor and deputy mayor are elected takes place on Monday, May 28.
The present mayor is Cllr John Carvey and the deputy is Cllr Duncan Bennett.
Members will also be appointed to serve on council committees and sub-committees and to represent the council on outside bodies.
Councillors are to review members’ allowances but are being recommended there should be no increase to all basic and chairman’s allowances, no increase to subsistence allowances and a policy to fix travelling allowances in line with HM Revenue and Customs approved rates be reaffirmed.
The meeting takes place at the Civic Centre and is due to start at 7.30pm.
