Uckfield beacon is in place ready for jubilee celebrations
A jubilee beacon is now in place at the Victoria Pleasure Ground in Uckfield in time to be lit during a ceremony on Monday.
A special torch will be passed through the crowd at 10pm and used to light the official beacon at the bottom end of the pleasure ground.
There will be a blessing followed by the singing of the National Anthem led by Uckfield Concert Brass and groups of local singers.
The ceremony will finish at about 10.30pm with a display of fireworks.
An evening of entertainment will be launched following a procession organised by the Uckfield Carnival and Bonfire Society through the town to the pleasure ground from Elizabeth Gardens in Grange Road. The parade will set off at 7.30pm.
Here's more information about the parade: Chance to dress in red, white and blue and join Uckfield parade.
Thanks to Ron Hill for the photographs of the beacon being positioned ready for the lighting ceremony.
