New solar panels on Uckfield Civic Centre roof prove to be 'excellent'

Photo voltaic panels on the roof of Uckfield Civic Centre are producing “excellent” results according to a report going to town councillors.

The report, from the council's energy and sustainability working group, also says a public readout display panel is to be located in the foyer of the Civic Centre with a ceremonial unveiling by the mayor.

A live feed of the display could also be added to the council's website.

The working group report is to be considered at a meeting of the council's general purposes committee on Monday.

Also mentioned is news that planning permission has been given for a wind turbine to be sited at the Victoria Pleasure Ground.

In addition heating and lighting controls are to be added to the Victoria Pavilion and the possibility of installing a wood pellet boiler at the Civic Centre is to be considered.
