Uckfield "town clock" will soon be replaced

New clock will soon have Uckfield on the right time

Uckfield High Street shoppers will soon be able to once again check the time.

A new “town clock” is on order and delivery is awaited.

It will replace the timepiece above the NatWest bank – a clock that virtually everyone looks at when walking up and down the street; whether they need to know the time or not.

The old clock stopped working and was beyond repair.

Uckfield Town Council is financing the replacement and “associated works” at an estimated cost of £2,600, with the town’s Rotary Club handling the ordering.

It is expected, all being well, that it will be installed within the next few weeks.
