MP backs campaign to reinstate Uckfield to London coach

MP Charles Hendry has given his continued support to a campaign to reinstate the National Express coach from Eastbourne to London, via Hailsham, Uckfield and Forest Row.

The campaign organiser Barry Marlowe has spent several months collecting a total of 625 signatures for a petition, which was presented to National Express.

Mr Hendry, the Wealden MP who has supported Mr Marlowe’s campaign from the beginning, said: “I have given Mr Marlowe my fully support for this campaign, and have also written to National Express, emphasising the importance that this bus service, if re-instated, will have for the local community.

“Barry has run a superb campaign, collecting signatures from across the county and then travelling to Birmingham to ensure that was handed straight to National Express, and I hope that they now decide to re-instate this service, having seen the levels of public support.”
