Mobile classroom at Manor school, Uckfield, to be polling station

A mobile classroom at Manor Primary School, Downsview Crescent, Uckfield, will be used as a polling station for next month’s county council elections.

The usual polling station – the nearby youth centre – is unavailable because of building work.

Wealden District Council, which is the local authority responsible for organising elections, looked at a number of possibilities to plug the gap.

Uckfield Town Council was concerned that the children should not miss lessons because of the election.

Nominations for the county council election must be with Wealden District Council by noon on , Friday, April 5.

The current county councillor for Uckfield is Paul Sparks. The current county councillor for Ridgewood (which is within the Framfield and Horam electoral division) is Chris Dowling.
