Maps have been drawn up showing suggested sites for pay and display parking in Uckfield … and for suggested residential permit zones.
On-street parking spaces in High Street, London Road, Framfield Road, and Church Street are all suggested for pay and display.
Car parks in Luxford Field, Regency Close (North) and Regency Close (South) are shown with free parking.
Pay parking tariffs for on-street parking are shown with different maximum time limits on each area.
In the main part of Uckfield High Street, 23 spaces, 15 minutes for 20p with the maximum length of stay being 30 minutes for 40p.
At the top of town in parking bays near Noble Wines, five spaces, and further north near Southview Drive, 18 spaces, people can stay for up to two hours The suggested tariffs for 15 minutes and 30 minutes are the same as in the High Street (20p and 40p). One hour would cost 80p and two hours, £1.60.
In Church Street there are three spaces with fees for 15 minutes, 30 minutes and one hour. Prices as previously.
Near Peacocks and Mill Drove parking is restricted to a maximum of one hour, in similar increments as previously, and in Framfield Road where there are a total of nine spaces there are fees for 15 minutes, 30 minutes, one hour and a maximum stay of two hours.
Suggested permit zones
Suggested permit zones stretch from south of the river as far as New Place, Belfry Orchard, Selby Rise, Selby Close and Selby Gardens and from Anvil Close in the west to Keld Drive in the east.
Within the area there are 1310 residential properties, and 1368 properties altogether. With the exception of pay and display space mentioned previously in Framfield Road and near Mill Drove the suggestion is for parking by permit holders, or time limited parking maximum stay two hours, no return within two hours Mon to Sat 8am-6pm.
