Lions prepare Santa’s Sleigh for tour of Uckfield and villages in December

Santa’s Sleigh will be touring Uckfield, Buxted, Maresfield, Framfield and Newick during December, thanks to Uckfield Lions’ Club.

Santa stops frequently to talk to children and hand out sweets. He is always happy to receive letters from them containing Christmas gift requests.

All Santa’s collectors will be wearing yellow Uckfield Lions tabards and collecting in sealed official tins.

The sleigh will start its rounds at a carol service at Holy Cross Church, Uckfield, on Sunday, December 2, at 2.30pm.

It will also be coming to the Uckfield Chamber of Commerce late night shopping event on Friday, December 7 when it will be outside Bridge Cottage in High Street.

A full list of Santa’s stopping points can be found on the Lions’ website.

All money raised will be used to support causes including local hospices, Scout and Guide groups, charities working with the disabled, sports clubs, Uckfield hospital and Sussex Air Ambulance.

Support is also available for “deserving” young people in their educational and sporting activities. The Lions are always pleased to receive requests for donations for good causes.
